L’Hotel d’Assoufid is a new luxury resort located in Marrakech, Morocco. Working in collaboration with U+B Architects the Assoufid resort is structured around modern garden oases that take advantage of optimal views to the Atlas Mountains, and contrast with the adjacent olive grove and raw desert landscape. The design concept reinterprets traditional Moroccan and Islamic design elements through a restrained and sophisticated use of repetition, proportion, color and texture, while retaining the compelling rhythms and mystery of the region. The master plan also addresses the unique environmental and economic conditions of Marrakech by employing indigenous materials, sustainable practices and utilizing local artisans.
