EQUESTRIAN COMMUNITY
The master plan for a new equestrian community is located in the hamlet of Amenia, within New York’s picturesque Hudson Valley. The site is a 480 acre area of rolling pasture and remnant forest mottled with the existing infrastructure of an equestrian farm, including barns, riding corrals and trails. Taking cues from the existing infrastructure and topography, the active community and equestrian spaces are focused around an existing ring road with development clustered against existing hedgerows at the paddock edges. The goal of the layout is to visually combine the home site with the corral, blurring the line between pasture and traditional yard.
Project Involvement: Schematic design at all scales of the project. Grading studies and earthwork analysis for various alternatives. Extensive physical and 3D modeling to simulate design alternatives and to illustrate design outcomes to the client and community board. Project coordination for the Environmental Impact Study in participation with civil engineer. Project coordination with client. Project renderings.
